People need to adapt to change these days. So a little delay happened, that's expected in any tech market.

I think people are more displeased about the price than release date.

Nintendo dropped a bomb at a tough economy time.
So tough that many can buy the latest iDevice every year.

Portable musical/social box=/= Handheld

Nintendo is wise, they can make more money next year during the spring time on the products while making money just by producing games this year. It does make you wonder why companies release new products on dry spells aka nothing good is coming out/nothing worth mentioning.

EPIC WIN!! as expected from the begining!!

Golden Sun, US release of Black and White.

Nearer: Super Scribblenauts, FF Four Warriors of Light, Lufia, Pokemon Ranger, etc.

Conclusion there are tons of games coming out that will interest people.

Honestly, I am fine with the price. It's totally next gen, and there are tons more new features; they make the price justified.

Yeah, the stocks went up by 9.7 percent when they announced the unit (source) and I don`t see anybody posting that when that increase happened... Why, you guys might ask yourself now? - Because nobody gives a shit!!! Honestly, who does?

And as far as I can see most people (at least here on the forum) are very pleased with the unit itself (no surprise - sexy softwarelinup

) and also with the release date (European people had to wait nearly 4 month for the original DS to hit European shores and now we`ll get the 3DS at nearly the same time with all the other territories!!!). However the price is debatable but I have to wait til Nintendo confirms a price for Europe to actually judge it.

stocks usually go down when a company announces something.

everytime apple announces a new device their stock goes down. it has nothing to do with appeal of the product, stocks are just manipulated by rich people to make more money no matter what. they'll drive prices down to force small share holders to sell and then they make the stocks shoot up. happens all the time

Pretty sure Cannonbeat meant at the time the 3DS is meant to launch and not during this holiday season.

If I was into stocks I would keep an eye on the stocks from now on and buy them when they have dropped a few dollars. They are still going strong and the 3DS just has such an epic line-up it's hard to believe they will keep dropping.

Knew someone would have to bring it up. It's not a completely unfair comparison perhaps, but still...the 3DS, for all intents and purposes, will focus solely on games. iPhone, for example, offers a lot more in terms of communications and media. Now, before you bring up the fact of a monthly service fee, consider the likely cost of a piece of software for 3DS versus iPhone, etc.

No one knows for sure what prompted Nintendo stock to drop (if it, indeed, did fall within the context suggested), but that price was still a pretty huge matzo ball to drop on gamers. I know I can't afford $300. It will, of course, likely come in closer to $250 here in the States, but still...my ass is already puckering up.
