PS1/2 Nightmare Creatures II fights are too hard

Hi,
I finished Nightmare Creatures I several times on PC but the second one on PS1 is so hard, even in easy mode I cant beat the yellow muscular guy in first level which you first meet in the showers.

Isnt it combos X, SQUARE, SQUARE? Is there special timing for combos? and how to beat that yellow guy.

And yes, that games was unplayable, as much as I remember I couldn't beat the second room, too bad for Marilyn Manson, he seemed like a bad ass character.
