This will esentially let everyone know how thick I am. I have a DS light Ewin expansion card and R4 updated to version 1.18.

1) here can I find the software updates for the Ewin Ds light Expansion pack?
2) I use Rommer that a friend of my Kyuzumaki helped to make. Is there any better versions out there that are simple to use?

The guy in the top post on this forum mentioned something about playing videos and moonshell;
3) How do I play videos on my DS?
4) Can it play any video files or does it have to be a certian type and if so where can I find such videos.
5) What is Moonshell? I thought it was just a folder I needed to copy over to my R4 card to make it work

I've read something about being able to read books on your DS.
6) How do I do this and what website can I find these books on.

Concerning ROMs.
8) If you were to use a ROM the only file you need is the one that ends in '*.nds' what are the other files used for?

Thanks for your help. I know pretty much nothing in terms of R4 cards, emulators and all that. I had an R4 card form Christmas but I've just been using it to play games!

Thanks in advance!

For video

From the BatchDPG1.5 text file

BatchDPG 1.56 Unofficial

BatchDPG Unofficial?:
I Modded BatchDPG as i want, that is BatchDPG Unofficial.
My Original Blog Post is - http://gblog.wtf.la/206

You want BatchDPG1.5 to convert the video files so the DS can play them on Moonshell.

Moonshell is easy to locate.

For books this is from the text file included

This Nintendo DS program should be used with the PC program PictoDS
(both of them are available at http://cbds.free.fr/)

* Copy the "cbds" directory in the root of your card. This "cbds" directory contains
the theme directory (which can be changed) and the ComicBookDS.ini configuration
file. This ini file can be changed manually in order to modify some ComicBookDS
settings (you can alternatively update and generate it with PictoDS).
* Choose one of the 3 ComicBookDS files (ComicBookDS.nds, ComicBookDS.sc.nds,
ComicBookDS.ds.gba) according to your flash card and copy it anywhere in your card.
If the program doesn't launch or reports that fat is not supported then you will have
to patch it. Go there : http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/ to find how to do it.
* The .cbds files (the books generated with PictoDS or downloaded from
http://cbds.free.fr/) must be placed in the "cbds" directory. However, you can create
some sub-directories to organise them.

This program is freeware.

Check http://cbds.free.fr/ for more information, new versions and to get and share
free cbds content.

The eWin 2in1 GBA expansion cart doesn't really have its own firmware, but it requires a loader on some carts to play GBA games and to use it as memory expansion for the Opera browser. There is a program called GBA ExpLoader that does what you need. You can get the latest version (currently 0.56) here: http://kotei.blog.so-net.ne.jp/archive/c530-1
