Gaming new at hacking PSP :S

My cousin wants his PSP hacked, so he can play games threw memory stick, and asked me to do it. I've got no clue at all how to do it :S i've heard about pandora's battery, but is there anyway to hack a PSP without buying a new battery?

The PSP is a PSP Phat, and the version software is 2.60.

You should update to 5.03 then install ChickHEN and Hellcat's Recovery Flasher, copy 500.PBP to the root of the memory stick and then load ChickHEN, then load Hellcat's Recovery Flasher and follow the prompts to install 5.00 M33-6.

doesnt some homebrew dont work on some?

and does it matter about the code after the psp? its 1003

Yeah all 1000 models can have custom firmware installed, Hellcat's Recovery flasher should have enough checks in it to get you through the flashing process without bricking as long as you don't be stupid and try to find out what happens if you turn of the PSP while you are flashing it.

EDIT: Yes you can play backed up games from the memory stick with custom firmware installed.

ChickHEN custom installer without pandora

If you're on windows, run the installer they provide and install to the root of your memory card. There is also a video. Good luck!
