Hello.

I would like to know if there could be a way to succesfully connect a New Nintendo 3DS to the computer with wires in order to manipulate the MicroSD card inside it in order to prevent the New Nintendo 3DS files to be corrupted easily (ADATA MicroSD 8GB, corrupts every year, probably because I eject it lots of times), and at the same time not wait 5 eternities for the documents to go back and forwards when I have to transfer my Nintendo DS ROM files.

Could there be some kind of accesory, DIY guide with homebrew or a program in order to do this successfully without file corruption, and fast that I can get? Thanks.

I don't think there is anything of the sort. Connecting the DS with wires would not only be difficult, but you'll also need to take it apart every time you want to access files.

If your SD card is often getting corrupted, you might want to invest in a new SD card. Or, if you are doing something funky on your 3DS often to get the SD corrupted, you might want to stop that and possibly find a different way around it. Pin-pointing the cause can be hard, but first I would get a new SD.

I don't know of such a cable, but have you considered just using FTPD ? It works well for me for years without corruption
I was going to ask for that in another post, but you caught my attention.

For years?

- How many?
- Is it fast?
- What client should I use on the computer in order to not get my files corrupted?

Well then~.

TWiLight Menu++'s FAT table file seems to corrupt even a small 8GB SD Card, apart from the ADATA MicroSD card to be. So I may as well delete that; the only thing that got corrupted was the entire ROMs folder. I will notify that to Robz8 just in case, even though I didn't notice the corruption until I investigated the ROMs folder while at the same time backing up the files with a batch script, and the only thing I was playing was Nintendo 3DS games. I'm still paranoid, so I will give it a shot. Couldn't be its fault, though. It was probably the process of ejecting it and the thing f¡]king around with me the way it did.

Yeah, sometimes heavy usage on SD cards, especially low storage and slow ones in general can cause some issues.

If you are ever paranoid of losing files, keeping a backup handy will do you wonders.

I use a 32 GB Kingston microSD card with an adapter, and I use TWLmenu++ all the time, along with ejecting and toying around with the files very regularly, and so far I have had no problems, at all. Yet, I still keep a backup, even though it takes up 17GB of space on my PC.

Turns out the only thing I could save from the past backup was a Pokémon Moon savefile backup, 6 photos and 2 Pokémon homebrew banks.

I lost a superb (haha funny) amount of progress on Pokémon SoulSilver.

I think I'll stick with FTP. Probably does less damage to the MicroSD.

For now. My dad's going to get me a Samsung 32G MicroSD; it's said to be pretty reliable, with a 5-year warranty.

Also, me be underage. So don't think I'm a wuss. Yet.

I dont know about how it corrupts easy. You either got a shitty sd card or a shitty 3ds console. Mine has worked fine with the amount of wireless use it gets with sending files on it. You can either look at a hardmod. but dont ever send more volts to the console than whats said cause you will fry the mobo easily. Continue with wireless files. or open the back and put the sd card into a reader for the pc.

The reader's the problem. It takes some time to accept the MicroSD. That's what I think corrupted the card.

Yeah, those ones are okay. I use one with my rPi. And it does me wonders.

Also, nobody gives a rats ass if your underage lmfao. I'm also underage. You are not a wuss my friend.

Might want to test that card with H2testw.l
Wouldn't it be enough to verify it with Rufus?

O.K, my dad's probably put that in my wish list.

Sadly, it has been reported today that Coronavirus, after some long days, reached the state I'm in. I don't know if he's going to manage to get it just in time.

Also, how much did it last until today? Did it ever freak out?

Rufus ain't a verfiying tool, it is a formatting tools, h2testw is. Backup your file before testing though.

Since I use it with my rPi, I format it, and image it often. Maybe hundreds of times. Formatting and imaging onto SD cards are some of the "stress heavy" things you can do to it, and so far I have had zero issues, what so ever. I have had it for maybe... 3 years now?

Either way, if the SD card DOES mess up, you'll have that warranty. But... It shouldn't.

Due to the market dollarization, it seems that people in my country started to sell not on its respective currency, but on dollars.

It costs $10. Should it be fishy?

Also, it's listed as new.

FTPD
I use Filezilla on windows - all works well

Almost forgot.

Is it true that big file transfering causes file corruption?

It should be okay. If not, you'll have that warranty if what they say is given, and either way... 10$ isn't that much. Maybe for you, as a minor, but still I bet I could walk around and find 10 bucks in change if I tried hard enough.

And yes and no. It really depends. From my experience, no. But others have said different. You'd need to look online for more info on that. I would assume not, but I don't know much of what goes on inside the card.
