Hi everyone. My New 3DS LL has the "An error has occurred" error.

I couldn't find much for the New 3DS so I'm hoping to find some help here.

What I've tried:
- Re-seating the ribbons
- Cleaning the ribbons with 99% alcohol, there was some corrosion on the long flexible display ribbon cable & connector.
- Re-syncing the battery
- Safe mode (does not work, it just goes to the error screen again)
- Removed the Wifi IC. (Desoldered it)
- Removed the SD Card
- Tried starting without the camera ribbon
- Tried starting without game inserted

The New 3DS was not jailbroken and did not have any homebrew on it.

Instead of radical hardware approaches like desoldering needed components, please ntrboot into GodMode9 to backup the NAND.
I suggest you run hardware/memory test which should (hopefully) boot from within GodMode9.

Good luck!
Hi, thanks for the tip but it doesn't want to ntrboot, it goes straight to the error screen.

I tried 2 different flashcards (Ace3DSX & R4i SDHC) and on a different regular 3ds on which it did work.

Edit: I re-seated all cables and I think I managed to get into ntrboot mode but the screens just stays black (on but black).

Just wanted to post an update. After replacing the top LCD flex I am able to boot into godmode9 and took a backup of the NAND but still not able to get into the normal menu

One more update;

I did the hardware test and it did not find any errors. I also did a CTRTransfer but the error message is still present.

As a third option I als bought a second new 3ds XL to see if any of the different parts of the 3ds could be causing the issue but this too did not fix the issue.

The furthest I’ve gotten now is the startup sound but with 2 black screens. Since both screens work fine in godmode9 that should’t be the problem. I’ve already tried to disconnect the camera ribbon. I also tried safe mode but I can’t really tell if it’s activating or not.

If anyone has anything else I can try, please let me know.
