Hacking Need help!

So I'm trying to Hack my wii for the first time, so bear with me.

My firmware for my Nintendo Wii is 4.3U. I followed the ModMii instructions to the "T" and I just want to know something. I put my SD Card with the HackMii Installer on it and used the Mail system method to try to run my HackMii Installer. However, when I clicked the message with a pick bomb on it, my tv screen goes blank. It's been like this for about 10-20 minutes and since I don't want to turn it off, how long should it normally take to do this?

It is safe to power off your Wii. Try it again. If the same black screen problem occurs again, then something was probably done incorrectly.

Thank you. I panicked because I didn't want to brick my wii. I only did this because Nintendo shut off their support for most of their things, and since they decided to do that, I decided to hack my wii. Thank you very much
