So i just got the game a few days ago and im sort of disappointed that the customization is so limited. what happened to the spoilers, the color, decals, rims, hoods, body kits..? What do you guys think?

other than that the game is alright so far, its addicting, kinda tough at first. if anybody wants to race sometime just post a comment.

Vita version isn't worth it. Vastly inferior to the console versions.

Limitations of the system give you empty roads and races with a small amount of cops (~5) versus the chases in the consoles versions (~20).

It's not "vastly inferior". Some cutbacks yes, but I find the amount of traffic fine. It's actually pretty good on Vita. Not to say I wouldn't also want the console version if I had a console.

    Also, addictive.

Visuals are much worse and the reduced amount of cars interferes with the gameplay (a police chase with only ~5 cars?) so I would say it's quite inferior. Then again, if you haven't played the console versions, then I guess I understand why you would be satisfied with it.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Despite the cutbacks made in the Vita version I don't think it really destroys the game, yes the graphics aren't as good and the traffic isn't as dense but the gameplay itself still remains very much in tact from the console version. I would even go as far to say that this particular NFS title made a better transition to handheld than any of its predecessors.

I also don't quite think that those screenshots do the game any justice since they are much larger on a computer monitor than on the Vita screen resulting in the graphical differences being more obvious as well as pixelation. :P

Well the screenshots are the same resolution as on the Vita and I've seen the game myself. It's vastly inferior to the console versions but if you have *no other option*, then you should get this (at bargain-price though)

It's true the game doesn't run at native Vita resolution (that would be nice), but the screenshots look worse here because they're a larger size than the Vita's screen. On the screen itself it looks great. I like that they've crammed most of the console version into the Vita; I'd be more than willing to compare it to the PS3 version if someone bought them for me. :ninja:

I'm also interested in this game since I don't own a home console, this would be great to have on a handheld?

Most definitely. I bought it on day one and have played it for a long time since.

Okay cool I'll look into it more.
I've watched a few youtube reviews and all they talk about is graphics and customisations. The last time I've played a NFS was Underground 2 on PC. How is Most Wanted played out? Is it like Underground 2? lol I'm so outdated with games.
Can anyone explain the game to me please? >.<

The focus is more on gameplay; the basic premise is to earn speed points in order to defeat the Most Wanted and take their cars. It's an open world game, so you're free to explore Fairhaven as much as you like.

Customisation is limited to tires, nitrous, chassis, body and transmission. Alternative car colours are only changed when you drive through a garage, though.

Also I can't stress that Vita games just look better on the Vita because of the OLED screen. Screenshots from excellent looking games like Uncharted do no justice without the color popping of the OLED. Just saying.

Personally I'll take the opinion of someone who's played the game over someone who's shooting it down with no experience honestly.

Those screenshots look like they're from a DS or something. Even the PSP would look better. So I highly, highly doubt the Vita has it looking that bad unless they did an absolute shit port of the game. Which actually wouldn't surprise me considering the NFS series has been so god awful for the past...forever. Most Wanted was one of the last good ones I played, so if this is basically the same game, it should be fun shit.

Now Guild surely no one in this thread has done such a thing!

Most reviews say it's a pretty decent port although not as good as the console version. Still, worth playing if you want it portable though.

Handheld ports are rarely as good as the console versions, but this certainly makes a great attempt at it.

I've read somewhere (forgotten now) that all the cars are accessible and you have to find it. From there, you just have to get money/unlock the customisations. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, for the most part the cars are accessible straight from the beginning. There are 41 cars in total, 31 of those are unlocking by finding them in free roam mode and the other 10 are unlocked by beating the 10 blacklist members.

Apart from the blacklist racers each car also has 5 races it can race in, completing silver and gold in each of these races unlocks 1 and 2 performance parts respectively and completing getting bronze or better in all 5 of the races unlocks re-inflatable tires.

Each car has the same performance parts:
    • Tires
      • Off-road
      • Track
      • Reinflates
    • Nitrous
      • Burn
      • Powershot
    • Chassis
      • Lightweight
      • Reinforced
    • Body
      • Aero
      • Impact Protection
    • Transmission
      • Long Gears
      • Short Gears
Each performance part also has a "pro" version which is unlocked by completing various requirements with the part attached (eg. drifting, driving into oncoming traffic, driving off-road, using nitrous, etc.)

Regardless, having the system and having played the game doesn't necessarily give you the license to mindlessly bash it.

You have to put this port in the context of a portable game, not in the context of the console version which had much more horsepower behind it. Compare it to Asphalt and everyone's cool with it, compare it with the 360/PS3 version of the game and you look kinda silly.

Oh come on, I'm not going to give a game slack just because it's a handheld game. Lack of cars do interfere with the gameplay and that isn't something to overlook simply because it's on the Vita.

And I did say that if you're unable to get the console versions, this is a decent choice. Just not the best port.
