I'd like to gut an NES, and put the Wii internals inside, replacing the disc drive with a hard drive installed into an NES cartridge. I'd like to position the Wii so it matches up with the power port of the NES but the board is about 1/4 inch too long to fit in comfortably. Any tips?

Yes because I have done this recently. Repurposed Wii boards into old shells I had around. A SNES and an Atari 2600. In both cases I simply removed the power port from the board. Trimmed a hole where I wanted it. Hot glued that sucker in there and soldered leads back to the board. It leaves more options inside the shell.

@Xdqwerty - what do you mean?
You think you can only get contents for those devices on the official stores?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
oh cool I figured it out. I had to set the PVID for the ports in question. I thought simply having the correct vlan untagged on that port would do the trick. Welp.
