Hacking Question NAND Backup & Always-On

I have a NAND backup made when I was on OFW 4.1.0. Then I updated to the latest FW for SX OS. Do I need to do another NAND Backup? or they are just identical between firmware updates?
And another question, so TX's AutoRCM drains battery according to some users, so what I do is let the dock always plugged-in and left my switch on sleep mode all the time and just sitting on the dock for multiple hours when not in used, is it safe for the switch's battery to be always plugged in? Anyways TIA!

If you updated without burning fuses, it would be helpful to make a new NAND backup. If fuses were burnt when you updated (which you can check with briccmii V2), then you must make a new one.

The Switch will always be in sleep mode this way which is how sleep mode is designed to be used and is much better than risking the battery to be completely drained.

Make another backup. As long as you don't let the battery drain in autorcm you should be fine

They are not identical.
Did you burn fuses? If so, your old backup is pretty much useless now.
AutoRCM drain battery because it boots to RCM (for most users) after 12sec from powering it off. Just force shut it down afterwards (hold power button ofr 12+ seconds)

Thanks for the clarification. Wont the battery degrade faster with this method? Was thinking of modding one of my extra right joycon if it will be much safer, im just not that good in soldering or modding.

sleep mode drains very little battery. It is really well optimized for it.

Yeap, read about how autorcm drains the battery, Im just asking if it will degrade the battery faster if it is always on sleep mode docked power plugged in...

My switch froze while in dev menu (yes, I went to the firmware option. Hehe). I held the power button down for about 12 seconds and I heard a pop. Like from the speaker. Then it shutdown. Do you hear that powering off in rcm mode?
