You don't believe that yourself do you?

I guess that's in reply to my comment?

Well.. on the first point, check the box your Wii came in. Look for an RSA logo.
Second point, there have been attempts to charge people with copyright infringement over "hashes" alone..

They wouldn't care about the 8 lines.. they'd care more about shutting people up. Look what happened with that AACS key recently.
The key is something like 128bit long and was easily revoked.... pretty worthless, but complaining about it is an easy way of making the information about reversing out more keys, which is legal in some places, magically disappear.

OP - Yeah good luck with the encryption if you're ever going to get serious about VC hacking. The encryption's different every time you copy a file to the SD card. Maybe it's based on time or something. There was a similar encryption with the DS....

guy who are all "lol vc sucks use GC homebrew" - VC owns man. It gets its own channel, which is tight, and the Wii VC emulators are more accurate than the homebrew Gamecube ones. Identical slowdown in Zelda 3, for example.

Also reverse engineering the VC setup may lead to a means for real wii homebrew. This could mean linux, real homebrew, or for you bastards who only get off on stealing, an ISO loader that doesn't require a modchip.

Nah its based on sessions
Doesnt it need a modchip

Can i just download burn an play withouth a modchipped wii

Has anybody here tired this:

1. Download VC games to console.
2. Make backups of the VC games on your PC.
3. Break said console.
4. Send console to be replaced by Nintendo.
5. Have Nintendo update the VC games to run on new console.
6. Compared original VC game to updated VC game for differences.

Just a thought. Maybe if someone did that, they'd be able to figure out what it is Nintendo does to a VC game to set it to a specific console.

Give it a shot. Let me know how it goes.
