This can't be good news for the ongoing development of The Force Unleashed 2, but it has been confirmed that multiple executives have resigned from LucasArts, including president Darrell Rodriguez, who only had the job for around two years. Rodriquez came from EA and took over for then resigning president Jim Ward.

No reason has been given for the resignations, and it's hard to come up with any really solid speculation. Sure, LucasArts hadn't really had succesful new IPs recently (Fracture), but Force Unleashed sold like gangbusters and he has what appears to be a very succesful partnership with BioWare for the The Old Republic under his belt. Let us not also forget the success of any game involving LEGOs and Star Wars or Indiana Jones.

Kotaku reports the the resignations should not have an effect on any of LucasArts' current games or development teams, but it's hard to believe that having multiple head honchos walk out the door all at the same time won't mess things up a little bit.

I hope this won't have a big effect on TFU2...unsure.gif

I hope so too..
I also knew that what I said was basically mentioned in the first sentence, but still...hopefully if it does affect anything they'll work around it. After all, the first game was successful, so they should make sure they put good resources into the sequel.

Until they make Battlefront III official, I shed no tear for LucasArts. Anyway, most of the time they just are there to hand out licenses to Star Wars/Indiana Jones games.

Speaking of which, what's the latest on III? Haven't heard anything about it in a while.

Free Radical were supposedly developing it for two years, then they lost the rights to and Pandemic have supposedly taken over, and now it's apparently Rebellion, heck, who knows.
