Hacking multiple games

I was simply referring to the original way of using a gw card with 4.5 fw and using emunand. I have one card (which I've had since gw first released) and use it with 3 3ds (mine and my two sons). Without wanting to sound like a fanboy it's the best investment i ever made.

Why use emuNAND if you don't need it?
Why need to boot from the DS profile if you don't need it?
Why have to worry about updating sysNAND if you don't need to?
Why be unable to play DSi or GBA if you don't need to?
Why have issues with saves because of 7.x save encryption (because of sysNAND being on 4.x)?
Why have it be difficult to change SD cards if you don't have to (because of emuNAND)?
Why have to navigate adf.ly websites and malware and files that aren't what they say they are, when you could get all your games right on your 3DS with freeShop?
Why have to need a cartridge to play your games (if you lose it you lose all your games and all your data because you can no longer boot into your emuNAND where all your data is...)?
And lots of other things I can't think of right now...

Just because it's a change doesn't mean it is bad. If there weren't gigantic benefits then things wouldn't have changed.

I use freeshop just fine. Don't know what you mean by 'issues' with saves' as i can play any/every game including the latest releases. Perhaps if I didn't have a gw and was buying a new 3ds I would go that route now but I've had one since they were first released.

Anyway, back to the topic. He has a 3ds on 4.5fw and a gw card. He can be playing whatever game he wants in 2 mins.

If you use installed games instead of the Gateway cartridge - why subject yourself to all the disadvantages if you aren't even using it? That's like buying a car then walking everywhere, when you could have just not bought a car and walked everywhere anyway.

He has a 3ds on 4.5fw and a gw card. He can be playing whatever game he wants in 2 mins.

Actually no - he'll need a DS flashcart also. Or, you know, he could just update, and have a9lh and Luma in 30 minutes. Instead of spending more money that he didn't need to and waiting weeks for the delivery from China.

Using gateway cards for piracy/backups is dated now since cfw has more benifits.What you can use the gateway for however is cheats as long as you don't get a dstwo and mix them together which would activate the brick code

i do have gw and dstwo, could u tell more on what code to go out when they come together? i just got changed to latest a9lh recently, no longer at risk due to that code, right?

You can use your Gateway card with a9lh by following https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-with-gateway-on-v2-a9lh.431691

But, you really should use an emuNAND, because updating while in Gateway mode on sysNAND causes a brick.

As long as you don't use your dstwo card while in gateway mode you won't activate it.Its still kinda risky to have both but just so you know what you are up agenst.Also gateways version of a9lh is known to lack firm protection which will brick a new 3ds without it on a possible update,a old 3ds would just simply lose a9lh on a possible update after 11.2.Hopefully you have community a9lh and not gateways which is what I assume you have if you are here.

i once got a blue screen brick in my old 3dsxl us, while it was running a normal game card with lid closed. Before that, i did insert dstwo, gw, that blue gw clone card separately.
Also i was told last year dont use nand saves made by gw, reason was potentoally unsafe code inside but i dont have proof.

Now i hv o3ds and new3ds consoles all A9lhed using soundhax as entry points as high as version 11.2. That gw card, i now wonder what i can further make use of it.
