I don't want to sound like an ass but the only reason Im hesitant is b/c I bricked my system back in march due to trying to get data disc to work. Something tells me to try over 202 but maybe Ill try the default (249)
BTW thanks for your help
...even if I am being a bit stubborn
Yeah I understand. But I've installed it on 249 on 2 separate Wii's today, both fully updated to system menu 4.0. If that helps qualm your worries a bit lol.
Ok some news, 249 worked but because i tried 202 first I wonder what happened to my USB 2.0 stuff... not that use it for game loading and m player still picks up on my pen drive... im just wondering.
202 gave me a "install return -1" whatever that means and 249 gave me a "Installation complete"
Now i'm off to go watch some "Power Rangers RPM" on my Wii!
Ah so DVD loading worked after that?
And it says in the 0.07 README.txt all about why the USB2 stuff is changed around:
QUOTE
USB 2.0:
You need to install the USB 2.0 cIOS from here:
http://code.google.com/p/mplayer-ce/downloads/list
(Please note that this requires a internet connection).
The installer is for Homebrew USB2 only, this will install IOS202 using base
IOS60 automatically. You can select the IOS to use to do the installation,
so you can select a IOS with the fake sign bug.
(IOS60 is downloaded to SD via the Nintendo's Update Server).
We are using IOS60 as a base as there has been improvements in wifi.
Those that install this cIOS do not require a DVDx instalation.
Users without the fakesign bug cannot install the cIOS to use USB2.
There is a work around for this but we cannot advise about it.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.
If you plan on updating make sure to install the cIOS and DVDx before updating.
