Here is what my screen shows... even after exiting and re-entering the program...

---------------------------------------
cIOS Installation

Selected IOS for install

Press LEFT/RIGHT to select other different IOS

Press A to continue (TAKE THE RISK)

Press B to abort
----------------------------------------

That's why Im asking if I should change the IOS to 202 because I have DVDX installed to 202.
Obviously I know what the screen has said. And I'm telling you to just let it install by default.

I don't want to sound like an ass but the only reason Im hesitant is b/c I bricked my system back in march due to trying to get data disc to work. Something tells me to try over 202 but maybe Ill try the default (249)

BTW thanks for your help

Yeah I understand. But I've installed it on 249 on 2 separate Wii's today, both fully updated to system menu 4.0. If that helps qualm your worries a bit lol.

Ok some news, 249 worked but because i tried 202 first I wonder what happened to my USB 2.0 stuff... not that use it for game loading and m player still picks up on my pen drive... im just wondering.

202 gave me a "install return -1" whatever that means and 249 gave me a "Installation complete"

Now i'm off to go watch some "Power Rangers RPM" on my Wii!

Ah so DVD loading worked after that?

And it says in the 0.07 README.txt all about why the USB2 stuff is changed around:
QUOTE
USB 2.0:
You need to install the USB 2.0 cIOS from here:
http://code.google.com/p/mplayer-ce/downloads/list
(Please note that this requires a internet connection).
The installer is for Homebrew USB2 only, this will install IOS202 using base
IOS60 automatically. You can select the IOS to use to do the installation,
so you can select a IOS with the fake sign bug.
(IOS60 is downloaded to SD via the Nintendo's Update Server).
We are using IOS60 as a base as there has been improvements in wifi.
Those that install this cIOS do not require a DVDx instalation.

Users without the fakesign bug cannot install the cIOS to use USB2.
There is a work around for this but we cannot advise about it.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.

If you plan on updating make sure to install the cIOS and DVDx before updating.

"Selected IOS for install " means load which IOS to start the installation process which is like Wad Manager 1.4 does.

No matter which one you choose, cIOS60 will install as IOS202. But you do need an IOS with Trucha Bug to make it work.

updated, and everything seems to be working fine, except the home button, which gives a code dump. i run mplayer ce via a forwarder channel, so not sure if that has anything to do with it. havent tried straight via the homebrew channel yet. will update later.

main problem im having though is with the new cios installer. ive never installed cios 202 before, so i thought i may as well give it a whirl to try and get a boost in wifi stability and speed (even though it already runs fine).

load up the installer, using the default 249 for the installation process. says initialising network, then it tries to download ios36 (wtf? thought it was based on ios60), but every process fails with the http request.

seems like its having a network problem, but my network works fine for everything else (internet channel, usb loader can download covers, homebrew browser, hell, even mplayer ce!). any ideas what the problem may be?

actually, i remember having a problem with waninkoko's cios installer, the network install wouldnt work for it either, but i never bothered pursing it, as i just downloaded the required ios manually and did a wad install no problems.

I am interested in installing this but I have one question. I have waninkoko's cios rev 13b installed on my wii. If I install the cios 202 this program requires will it cause issues with cios rev 13b? Also, if it installs as ios60 will my patched iso60 no longer be patched and I won't be able to run VC games from the sd card anymore?

All this stuff confuses the hell out of me, but my wife wants me to try and get some video playback on the wii.

Thanks guys.

Yes, you'll still be able to run pirated VC games from your SD card. And no, it won't cause conflicts with waninkoko's cios.

Yeah, I'm getting the code dump too, it sucks. Doesn't happen if you boot from HBC. So I think it has to do with different IOS's being loaded. Perhaps changing the IOS in the TMD file of the forwarder to that of what HBC uses will work.

here's some tips:

Installed IOS202 before yes/no? if yes, reinstall using IOS202, if it gives an error, delete IOS202 with any title deleter, and then reinstall. remove dvdx from ios202 and back to default or remove al together.

Last thing, IOS60 is not installed it is downloaded to use the improvements within IOS60 to use in ios202, AND any other ios installed no your'e wii makes no damn difference

Another great build by the MPlayer CE team.

Now that I did not have to have DVDX installed with cIOS 202, I was able to use DVDX for IOS 249 to make a few other programs work.

DVD playback is great, but I noticed that MPlayer freezes if I use the up and down arrows to go forward. This has probably been known with prior builds, but is there anyway to disable the up and down arrows during DVD playback? I am not sure if they are meant to function as the chapter buttons (since it says + and - is for chapters on the Wiibrew page) but if they aren't, it might be a good change.

Also, the libdvdnab screen has opened up on all my DVDs, but I am assuming that it is still in experimental mode unless I am missing some way to actually navigate within it.

Thanks again team.

things are running fine on mine except for the file browsing shows me all files. i can select the "filter files" in the options menu, but it doesn't stick. i haven't tried doing it with the config file yet.

never had ios202 installed before (the only cios i have used is waninkoko's 249)

and speaking of ios60 being downloaded, how come it says when trying to install for me that its downloading ios36, or is this just a lack of updating or something?

cheers

i was never able to get mplayer ce to see my usb drive but whether its the new cios or the new app, it works like a charm

thank you!

Nice work to you and the guys on the new build, seems rock stable and works well with every video type at least within the hardware capabilities of the Wii. Nice fast load times and responsiveness.

Does Mplayer use XvBA, is this even possible to implement on the Wii?

Cheers

Love the new mplayer_ce 0.7!! All works well thus far.

Is it normal for a burnt dvd-r to take around 10-15 seconds to play? And 15-30 seconds for a retail dvd?
