I followed the instructions in this video and everything was working fine, minus stuttering with FMVs and music in some games, though from what I can gather that seems to just be part of OPL in its current state (please tell me if I'm wrong on that). At one point I wanted to turn the PS2 "Sony Computer Entertainment" bootup screen back on, so I went into Free HDBoot Configurator in the Free HDBoot menu, set "Skip Sony Logo" to "OFF" under "Configure OSDSYS options", and saved the settings to my second memory card where FMCB is stored through "Save CNF to MC1".

After powercycling the console, it worked, with the SCE screen coming back, but now whenever it's inserted on bootup, I suddenly only have the options "Browser", "System Configuration", "Launch disc" and "Reload Configuration", with other things like uLaunchELF and OPL being missing. When I remove the memory card, I get these options back, but the system takes WAY longer to get to that screen, like 20 seconds, which includes the SCE screen, even though the FHDB configurator says that's off now(?). I guess there's also a secondary install of it on the HDD then(??), that isn't obeying its own settings settings(???).

Why did this happen, how do I get my memory card being responsible for housing FMCB again, should I even keep FMCB on there, how do I fix it, what should I do in the future to avoid this? Also, before anyone suggests I consult PS2 Home, after and ever since clicking register while trying to make an account, I get a permanent 503 error when trying to access the site, and when my friend tried to make an account, she never even got the necessary verification email.

FHDB and FMCB are different installations with their own configs, you can remake the menu in the settings or just reinstall fmcb.

I'm sorry but this doesn't answer so many of my questions or even tell me how to do those things

Good video for general idea on how to add to your menu with freemcboot. FHDB is a little slower than FMCBOOT. Maybe re-setting up FHDB can fix your issue?
