Hacking moonshell config

Every time I update moonshell, Can I use the same moonshl file (The configuration file) from the old one for the new one? Because I don't want the hassle of having to go through the settings and changing them to my liking again.
And is the developer of moonshell planning any updates? Or is 1.6 his final update?

final version is out already as i'm sure you know

about the config. file i don't know but maybe is not a good idea since he(developer) could be made various implements in the file for new options/bug fixes etc...anyway you can just make a backup and give it a try
