Well , I got my R4DS Yesterday , and I just noticed a problem with the Moonshell , Happend to me twice already.

I turn on R4DS
click moonshell button(The middle one )
Listen to music
Then I do something else with the DS (Turn off or Play games)
And when I come back , It plays one song , And whenever I try to switch songs , I press B or choose another song , The DS gets stuck.

What to do?

Try Changing the settings.

There will be the progress window. On it, you should see Volume, MusicNext and then change. The MusicNext will tell you what the player is set to do.If you tap the change button, it will come up with the options.

Stop: Play the song then stop till another song is selected.
OneRepeat: Play the selected song over and over again.
NormalLoop: This will just loop all of the songs in the folder, forever.
NormalPowOff: This will play all of the songs in the folder and then shut the DS down when it finishes the last song.
ShuffleLoop: This will randomly select a song from the folder and keep going forever.
ShufflePowOff: This will shuffle and then shut down once all the songs have been played.
End PowOff: This will just shut down when the selected song is done playing.

Good to hear you finally got it mate. Ill play you another day, too much homework and my job is killing me at the moment. I have never had this problem before, could be isolated. Did you install the firmware from the CD or download it from the Intarweb (Internet, yeah i like calling it that)?

I installed mine from the internet and it works great, but my mate did it from the CD and he had issues with moonshell, did a fresh install from the internet and it seemed to fix his problems. I may be wrong though.
