ROM Hack Modify Update Code?

I have extracted the code from an update CIA, now how would I go about putting the modified code into the CIA to install on my 3DS?

You need to rebuild the romfs (and exefs assuming you have edited the code) and make sure you have the exHeader. Then use 3ds builder (do not know where it is at, it is also in Asia81's tutorial) to build it into a .3ds (make sure you use pre-built binaries (the ones u made)) and generate its xorPADS then finally convert it to a .cia to install it

That does not work for updates, and there is no need to rebuild the romfs as I am editing the code.
