This might actually help the Vita's sales. I mean if he's interested in a game on it, then that says something about that game and the system it's on.
Plus he's just a normal guy like the rest of us, I doubt he always wants to sit around and only play his games, that would boring and annoying really fast.

Besides at least he's not pulling a M$ and telling people to buy his system over that system, he's just enjoying the game.

Interestingly enough, his favourite Mario game "as a player" was Super Mario Bros 2/USA, which helps support your point.

On another note, Sakurai also has around 10 PSP systems.
