Gaming Minecraft digging not working properly...

Hey guys,

Lately when I have been playing Minecraft and have been trying to dig blocks (i.e. dirt) with my hand it in't working... It only seems to work when I use the right item (i.e. shovel for dirt). I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening and if there is a solution. Please answer because this is really annoying...

server or single player, some servers have mods, some you cant use bare hands near spawn to stop griefers

Vanilla Minecraft or do you have mods?

it will take a little long digging without a shovel

you can try a reinstall (click force update) that should reupdate you to the newest version

minecraft may look simple but it need a good amount of ram well
also
make sure your java is updated (AND you have the right version for you system of it 32bit or 64bit)

you are in adventure mode

/set gamemode 0

The first time I played Minecraft, I rapidly clicked dirt to get it. Learned a week later to hold the mouse button o.o
