So I was trying to enable controllers for Wii games and to get GameCube games working (since all I was getting was the infamous black screen when booting them) when I thought it was a good idea to follow this YouTube tutorial about installing Nintendont through Homebrew (I had already tried manual installation and Teconmoon's injector and it wouldn't work).

Anyways, once I downloaded the files and completed the Nintendont installation, I tried to go back to the Wii U menu to boot the app, but it got locked in the loading screen and every two seconds it would switch to a black screen. Whenever I turn the console on again, the same loop keeps going.

I saw something similar happened to a user here, and they were able to solve it by leaving the Gamepad far from the console so it would force its desync. I did it and instead of getting the loop, the Homebrew menu was booted right just after turning the console on. The problem's still there since if I turn on the Gamepad and press the home button from there, I still get stuck on the load screen. Any advice?

I posted this on another forum and didn't get help, so I'm asking once again if someone knows here. The video I followed instructions to was this one:

Never follow video guides they tend to be extremely inaccurate and become outdated quickly. Try holding the power button on the console until it powers off completely if it wont unplug it and plug it back in and see.

I don't think so, but the boot loop is the same that occurs when running CBHC, right?

Why? I don't get it. A nand backup is always recommended.

What probably happened is you installed this forwarder to your system nand. The data ended up corrupted and making the console unable to boot. This is why you always make a nand backup even if you dont think you will need one. This is basically a brick im afraid.

But I installed it on the USB memory like I've done with every download.

You're screwed if you don't have a backup. Sorry for that. Another unit down.

I think a boot loop might be a good sign. I think there's a way to fix it, but you have to cbhc running. it involves forcing the system into the homebrew channel. I'm not entirely sure what happens with a normal cbhc sort of brick. it's either error, stuck at splash screen, or black screen I believe, not a boot loop, but I'm really not sure. I'm just remembering something vaguely from I think the cbhc tutorial on here. you might take a look.

edit: I can't remember where I saw that, but you have to be able to get into the homebrew launcher to fix it.

Thank you! I'll try to not brick it this time.

In other news, I talked to the friend who gave me the console and he said he made a nand backup before, so I was wrong. What can I do to restore it now?

the only way to restore it is a hard mod. if you can't do it yourself, I'd just buy a new wii u system. the gamepad is the bulk of the price, and that will be fine on another system.

you better hope the nand backup was made with the new tool. the old one for ednand misses some of the nand. the nand should be 528MBs.
