Megaupload: Data access talks to begin on 26 April

I think a fair way of doing this is if they put megaupload back online for users to get there data back, but only the account holder can download the data. This will prevent piracy.

@jakob95 then those who owned the files will put them up elsewhere although the account owners probably still had the original files and have already uploaded them idk if really people lost their ddata

you can pretty much kiss any chance of getting anything you put on mu back ever again. the lesson learned: don't put anything important or personal on someone elses computer :creep:

And yet my data will be safe forever in the cloud should I believe the sales wonks that come my way.

Re: actual lost data. There were a few people that skirted the edges of acceptable use (many of those being people that assembled collections of live performances of bands) and others that were very much inconvenienced (think shared accounts). Personally my inclination if they are not inclined to do a full restore or a variation thereof would be to allow a megabyte limited free for all (limit to be decided after proper discussion but probably in the very low hundreds of megs) with the possibility to apply for more (and have the request vetted somehow).

Interesting times we live it, I still await any fallout that might be coming of the other recent takedown ( http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/03/01/bodog_shut_via_verisign/ ) where they went after the GLUE records for a site again seemingly outside their jurisdiction.

wow how dumb is america that they have all this information to have dotcom put in jail forever and they cant legally i just doesnt make sense what is wrong well then they need to put megaupload back up

Was that post supposed to be a self demonstrating?

if this i megaupload's database, what is google's... or make it simpler, youtube's? 1 hr of video uploaded every second

if i can understand u fast, does that mean that there is no possibility for megaupload to come back like rapidshare did as the case has already passed this stage?
