I recently purchased the Mayflash gamecube controller to wii/ wii u adapter and well I'm a little disappointed with it. When I use the adapter on the vWii of the Wii U it seems to work pretty well, however whenever I try connecting while I'm on the Wii U the entire menu goes crazy and opens the wii u settings menu (home button menu).

After doing some research I found out that it has to first sync up with the wii remote and while it's doing it, it tends to send random signals to the wii remote which ends up opening up various menus on the Wii U/Wii. After it's done syncing the controller usually works on the vWii, however I've had it almost never work correctly on the Wii U, usually it tends to just try and sync for a long time and never actually go through.

I've had it work once or twice with the virtual console version of Super Metroid, however whenever I pressed the home button the gamecube controller would cease to function entirely. Is this a known issue with this adapter, or do I have a defective product?

My adapter works in the system's Wii U mode (I have not tested it extensively, but what I have tested has been responsive), and Super Metroid worked with my GameCube controller even after I pressed the "Home" button on my Wii remote and then returned to the game. I also tested the "Home" button emulation of Start+Z on the GameCube controller, and doing so did not disable the device.

I would recommend testing, if possible, a second Wii Remote and a second GameCube controller, to rule out either of those as possible causes of the problem.

Thanks, I tried using a older wii remote and that worked perfectly, guess the newer motion+ controllers don't play nice with the adapter.

In fact, I use the Motion+ controller included with Skyward Sword. I own a second Motion+ controller that I have not yet tested, however.

I only just recently bought the motion plus enabled controller so it might be a revision. I was reading some newer models don't connect to Dolphin as easily as some of the older motion+ controllers apparently.
