I thought Mario Tennis for the Gamecube was pretty poor, I couldn't get into it. Perhaps it's because I didn't play it until it was re-released for the Wii. Hopefully they'll release a demo of MTO so that I can check it out, otherwise I probably won't be buying it.

Its such a shame that the RPG mode from the Gameboy games has gone. Now its just another Mario spin off.

Oooo, yes, it doesn't have stupid human characters no one will ever give a crap about, and now it's not "unique" anymore.

Not to mention that the gameboy game wasn't even really a mario game at all, except in name. It was an ok game, but that pissed me off.

I enjoy Mario tennis games, but I'm gonna pass on this. Too many great games coming out for 3ds to worry about this one. Unless some poor sod buys it and hates it and sells it to me for $5-10.
Online play is a great idea in theory, but I can just see hosts exploiting any lag it has like they do on fighting games for 3ds.

ugh i thought i was the only one... so many times my normally amazing connection just started acting weird and i literally didn't even have a chance to land a single hit on my opponent in street fighter. only way to fix it was by exiting the whole cursed game and resetting wireless.

From my experience, as with any other game I suppose, host has advantage. The difference is on 3ds it seems host has a bonus advantage of the other player lagging. I could just see smashing the ball, then lag comes into play and the other person gets robbed of their chance to return the ball.
For it to work, it'll need to have a dedicated server or something of the sort to cut down lag.
