It'd be cool if it did have online. I have a friend that will be moving away soon and I would love to play this game with him.

I'm surprised people still care about Mario Party.

I would agree by myself... but my wife who forced me to buy both of the games on the Wii and the one for the DS... On the Wii as a 4 player family type game it is not bad, I mean there are literally a hundred other games I would rather play but none of them have that same sort of board game feel.

I would almost call it less of a game and more a family activity where everyone curses everyone out and vents... lol

Why would you want that? All of you know the second something bad happened to someone playing online, they would disconnect.
Online would make playing alone even more fun, and you know it.

I think it'd be better for online play ONLY with friends.
Your right that anyone on random matchup would just leave the second something had happened. And the party games have Always been about playing with friends, so friend only party matchups would be a nice feature.

You must have some level minded friends. I know my friends would do that to me. Lucky for me, my main Mario Party playing friend lives close enough to me I could walk around the corner and do local play. And he's usually cool about things like this.

Well, I meant friends you could count on not rage quitting XD My brothers rage quit Mario party all the time so I know they wouldn't play
A neat feature would be communities like MK7.

The other problem I have with online is the amount of time the game takes normally. At least an hour in older titles. That's probably too long for most to be on their 3DS.

Maybe it's because I'm ...older...but rage-quitting friends is about the least of my concerns, re: online, so, no, more fun alone is pretty much impossible given the genre.

Looks pretty good. However, seeing as the recent Mario Party games were pretty crappy (8 and 9 at least), I'm still a bit skeptical on this one. And like everyone else is saying, I really hope this has online play. Even if it's just friends only, I'd still enjoy it (None of my RL friends have a 3DS, so I'm kind of shit out of luck with that).

Anyone claiming online wouldn't work has clearly never tried netplay on the n64. It works fine as long as there's a method for voice communication and you play with friends.

Frankly though I don't know anyone either online or locally who would actually purchase a modern mario party anyway so I will just be ignoring this completely.

Yes, but at this point in time there really should be an option for it. They could even do communities like mk7 and the golf game.

Then we can make and call our own community Gbatemp party.

Seriously, if they can do it with a golf game, they can do with Mario Party.

As long as they got a cpu-player replacement system (either for friend or random)for people who do and it doesn't mess up the game, Idc.

It's not like everyone like that anyway.

For random matches, there is most likely going to be a short set times/turns or turns/time limits.

Idk, if you aren't moving too much, at least an hour can be done. Like Mario Kart passes a
hour easily.

Mario Party DS was my first Mario Party and I enjoyed that a lot. Getting this for sure. I also don't care for online. Local multiplayer is good enough for me.
