Hacking Question Mario Odyssey Extra Content Unavailable

I have the latest update for Odyssey, but can't access the last few costumes and filters, e.g.: the zombie costume.

I'm running SX OS 2.5.3 in emuNAND with a mounted XCI of the main game, as well as an installed NSP which brings the title up to version 1.2.0

I have access to the extras which were available when the update was first released, but the extra costumes and such which apparently became available on October 30, 2018 can't be found.

I read somewhere that the zombie costume, etc. was actually included in the 1.2.0 update and simply became usable on October 30th, but cannot figure out how to enable them.

Is there any way to access these without taking the huge risk of updating to the latest firmware and/or going online? Thanks for any and all insights.

they probably do an online check to verify the date so you cant get them without going online

I thought so too, so I disabled the "Get date/time from Internet" function, manually set back the date by a year, rebooted the game, quit, them *reenabled* the Internet time function which instantly pulled down the correct date. I have Nintendo's servers blocked via the usual methods, but I'm otherwise online. One would think that since the date/time derived from that automatic source cannot be spoofed, it would not be necessary to contact any of N's servers.

Could there be a way to manually edit a flag somewhere?
