Mario Kart 64 decomp gets ported to PC

Harbour Masters--the team behind porting decompilation projects such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, and others to PC--has done it again. The recently completed decompilation for Mario Kart 64 has now been ported over to PC, allowing you to play the game natively, instead of having to imperfectly emulate it. Of course, in order to build the port, you'll have to have your own copy of Mario Kart 64 backed up. A Nintendo Switch build and Steam Deck/Linux build are also available. I hope someone can port it to 3ds, it would be a blast to play on it 🔥
I'm also hoping for someone with enough knowledge to port it to 3DS, I would do it myself, but doing so is out of my realms of knowledge about basic software compiling and porting, maybe OpenDingux devices could be easier since they already run Linux.

I think the biggest hurdle is the dependecy on libultraship, so far there hasn't been an attemp to port that library to consoles like the 3DS, Vita or Wii U.

I don't think a game having a very specific exploitable mechanic (Mario Kart DS) somehow making it worse than a game being janky overall...

Really? MKDS is no good in multiplayer mode (the only mode that matters in Mario Kart) if someone chooses to boost round the whole track. I think it does make it worse.

I did not know MK8 has a similar issue. Fortunately neither does anyone I play with, so I will try to forget this and not let it ruin the game. Otherwise, there's a lot of toggles in MK8 so maybe it can be resolved there.

I guess MK64 still has the crown. I don't know what you mean by saying it's "janky". Maybe it is. Feel free to explain or link me to a post where you or someone else has already said - but it sounds like you're fixated on something trivial.
 
I finished mushroom cup on 150cc as Wario, I noticed other players seemingly teleporting Infront of me, at 1 point there was a banana held behind someone but they were invisible (toad). The game crashed when the cup was over. Looked good though will be nice to see it polished

Just tried to play multiplayer with a friend, 2 Xbox 360 controllers connected via the usb receiver but both controllers acted as player one
