Hacking M3 Real Skin Template PSD

Hey everybody

Cool site, my first post here, recently got my girlfriend a DS with some games, decided I liked the DS so got myself one too, and then yah got 2 x M3 DS Real Cards

Both of us are in design professionally and would like to make our own skins...

Is there a template Photoshop PSD that we could use as a base, anything like that or do we kinda just need to work from a downloaded skin and sift through all the slices?

Any help would be appreciated!

There is not much point, seeing as the firmware is getting redone in just 2 days. The current firmware is relatively frustrating to skin, because only .bmp's can be used. The new firmware will have much more flexible skinning ability's due to .png support, including transparencies.

just grab the images from the skin1 or skin2 folder in your system folder.

but skinning right now would be quite useless, a whole new firmware with different layout is coming in a few days.

Cool i'll wait for that then, yeah wasn't too excited about having to use bmp's ... Just not crazy about the current templates I have on the card, especially with the default typeface

Hi! there LukeDS..nice to see some professional designers, I'd like to see what will you come up with in the end, wait until 30.5. and you'll have the whole new skinning system..

You can download more skins anyway. You should be able to find heaps right here on this site.

Thats good, some new skinners. If you want a template just download a skin and edit it to your liking.

I only just started skinning but mine aren't that good, but i'm sure yours will because your a pro designer.
