In the same fashion that you would from GameFAQs onto an emulated version of the game, but instead, on the Nintendo DS cart itself. Action Replay is used for this, right? What type of AR? A Media type or will a regular AR suffice? If there's a specific type, do I need to buy sold separate parts to load game savs over?

To put gamesaves from GameFAQs on a retail cart, I think you need an Action Replay Max Duo, which is actually just a GBA Action Replay that can save/load DS game saves.

But realistically, you would be better off buying a DS flashcart of some sort, and using www.shunyweb.info to convert the Max Duo save files for your flashcart.

the MSRP is $35. If you only have commercial games, and want to play someone else's save, you want to follow the above link. If you have a flash cart, use this (http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php) to convert the save.

In regards to the SD card, reading the info at codejunkies, it appears so. Remember to get a 2GB or less size card.
EDIT: yeah, it looks like it would work.
