Hardware Knock-Off GCN Controller vs Ps4 to Switch Adapter for SSBU

As 8 player smash is returning in SSBU, I want to get controllers for my friends to join. Nintendo controllers don't exist where I live and they are really expensive to import. So I want to get cheaper ones.
My options:

1. Knockoff Gamecube controllers with an adapter
2. Coov N100 adapters (makes any controller controller work on the switch) and asking my friends to bring their own Ps4 controllers.

Which do you think would be a better choice for long term smashing?
