If you are like most 3DS owners you probably can't wait for the AR card battles of Kid Icarus: Uprising. How would you feel to know the end result was always predetermined? A representative from Nintendo has let it slip that the battles will always play out the same way. Finally a collectible AR card element and there seems to be little point aside from the watching the 3D models battle it out. We would like to know your take on this. Please take a moment to join in the on-going discussion.

If that's true it would render the feature pretty much useless except for the novelty factor, which will wear off quickly.

That's what I said. If the outcome is predetermined, they can't function as a card game, they can only be a set of collectibles, like anime figurines or commemorative plates. I'm sure fans and collectors will buy them all anyway.

Yeah, this really sucks. And it looked like we might be getting a really awesome trading card game. >.

one game i will not waste my money on for my son.. that blows. whats the point in "playing",or collecting the cards. or what ever. i think Nintendo ego, is starting to get in the way of then developing some real good games/systems..
"we are nintendo, it doesn't matter what we make, the public will buy it, even if it is junk. just put our name on it."

For a extra mini-game, it's not bad really

Also, I know some cool card games with "predetermined outcome". Ever heard of Top Trumps?

Though in this case, we only have one attribute...

It's just a small part of the game, it doesn't mean the whole thing is crappy.

A small mistake in a drawing can exist but the whole thing can still be great you know?

The whole amazement of AR cards has really passed me now..it pisses me off more than anything to have to get it out all the time (like in Nintendogs) so much so, that I didn't bother training my dog anymore (would have been nice if we had the choice to do it on screen as well).

Count me out of the Kid Icarus AR card trading money-making-malarky.

I'll just have the game.

...and then the game sold 2 copies worldwide.

I don't think this will affect sales of the game. It's disappointing, yes, but I'm still buying it because it looks like a great game. I don't care about crappy cards.
