i really want to check out kamen rider, but i have no idea what series to start with... does anyone have any advice?

that depends how much you love kamen rideR?
if you can bare with those shooting from 70's - 90's then you really check the early kamen rider's out
personally my favourite is Black RX

if you prefer the fancy and funkier kamen rider then you should check those kamen rider shot after black RX till to date

since both series are linked, you should watch BLACK then only BLACK RX

Yup, Black is also my favorite since I grew up watching it on TV. As for the Heisei riders, my favorite is Kabuto.

Starting off with a showa Rider series, are we? Well, that's fine, but I recommend that you watch a heisei Rider series first if you don't like BLACK RX.

For a good heisei series to start off with, try Kamen Rider 555 or Kabuto. In case you want to check out other showa riders, make sure to check out V3 or Amazon.

Or you could just start from the Heisei series in order:
Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki,Faiz(555), Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva

If you survive all that (including movies), you'll have fun watching Decade ^^

though for Decade, you might also want (need ?) to watch the super sentai of the same year (Shinkenger)

TV-Nihon is probably the best place to start with; they subbed a good amount of heisei riders. Beware, though, their subs are kisama.

Also, make sure to hit up tokyotosho if you can't find what you're looking for.

Actually Power Rangers was an English rip-off of the Super Sentai. Which also started after Kamen Riders.

Tough the only Kamen Rider I watched and enjoyed was Ryuki (between it, Faiz and Blade)

And the stupid short video "Kamen Rider G"
