Microwave ovens have mesh in the door to stop microwave energy from cooking you. This has nothing, they aren't going to let you have something that would burn you (probably quite badly) somewhere where you can just walk into it by accident. If you stuck some sort of safety cage around this it would be no better than the other 3D methods. Exploding the air seems a little extreme just to have a floating image if you ask me.
