Nintendo doesn't care about it's real gamer community. They only care about your money. That's why VC Games are a huge fucking rip off, and there are absolutely no good exclusives planned for it's future. Just a ton of 3rd party crap. I'm still stuck playing my release titles, somethings wrong.

Fuck them. Maybe if they showed some customer appreciation (Oh wait, all their customers aren't real gamers) I would support them.

I bought brawl since I play it competitively, and I bought the console. Thats over 350 bucks right there. That's enough money from my pocket.

Thanks.

Attitudes like this make me want to go around and shoot random people for being stupid.
EVERY FUCKING COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR MONEY.
That's why they are companies. To make money.
You are acting like someone forced you to buy the console and game. How fucking pathetic is that? Don't like the company? Don't like the game? Don't fucking buy the console and stop acting like you have a right to steal.
Stop acting like a douche. Yes, we know Nintendo is a company, that is fucking obvious. So what?
And we are CONSUMERS. WE ONLY CARE ABOUT OUR *OWN* MONEY. Jesus Christ. See how stupid it is to use this kind of argument?
And lol at "pirating is stealing".

DAM RIGHT I CARE ABOUT MY MONEY!

especially in todays economy. video games are looking less and less affordable for me. cant afford ps3 games. I only own 2 (motorstorm bundle and warhawk)

i cant buy any wii games until black friday. dark times are coming

can we get over this one now? no one is going to go broke over a softmod, I vote, if you don't like it, don't use it, download it... my .02 cents.

Just like the PSX died because of free piracy? Oh wait!

About PSX: It was just burn a CD and you're done. No modchip and stuff. If it requires a modchip, I'm sorry but I don't remember ever asking for my PSOne to be modded and it runs backups fine.

well, i guess well just ride it out to see what will happen in the future. but i can assure you the wii will not die because of this.................

@ManZero

A modchip is needed to play PS1 games...you must be getting old and losing your memory. There were swap discs...but that is still not "burn and you're done".

Everyone has forgot another point.

When a console dies like xbox, ps2, psp, etc... all those companies have HUGE investments in many other markets, all over the place, so they can afford to loose money on a console (and they do), and take money from other parts of their company to create a new console (ps3 and xbox360). Wii is made by Nintendo, all Nintendo do is primarily gaming hardware and software. They don't have hi-fi systems, plasma tv's, things you can't pirate, and things that make money, like the other companies do...

Piracy isn't stealing.

You must mean old piracy.

We mean piracy of the digital age.
We download things, but those things are there for others to download as well.

We're more like Robin Hoods or something.

Thing is Nintendo makes cash off each Wii sold.
So as long as people buy Wii's, they wouldn't even need the games.

And if I recall correctly, the Wii has a very low adoption rate, which means many Wii owners only own 1 or 2 games at the most.

Saying Piracy will kill Nintendo's income is just stupud, but it's very possible that it could deter 3rd party devs from making games that aren't shovelware and kiddie games.

We'll see, but one thing is for sure, the Wii prints money just by it's self. There is no way it's going to die from maybe less than 1% of all Wii owners pirating games using a softmod.

Edit: To further my point, look at DS, PSP, and PC piracy. I'm sure you can already see that they are still going strong, especially the DS.
Piracy may not be legal, or right, but it's not going to kill the industry.

Its copyright breach, not stealing, you are right.

Anyway back on topic.

IMO No it isnt the end of nintendo. Why? Quite simply the demographic which they are currently "printing money off" isn't the hardcore/tech minded/adventurous ones like we are here. They aren't the type of person who will bother to the extent of downloading games. My examples I put forward are the DS/PSP/and "The Sims (all 10000000 billion expansions and versions)".

IMO Piracy is blown well out of proportion there is no honest figures out there like "game sales". When we get honest figures i'll take it seriously.

Haha, oh snap miles, our posts are almost identical.

This whole post is full of repeats, I said all this at the beginning and yes a study in to the sale figures has been done as i said at the beginning. Also PC gamer mag just done a article on this with the writer telling people to go out and download pirate games.... i wont go into it now as i have said before because this is a very STRONG topic with me and we could go for years

fuck it. piracy happens and it always will if theres a means to do it....i mean the only reason i brought a ds was because i knew i wouldnt have to pay for any games after i invested a lil bit of money.

Same with a psp.

I actually got my wii before it was hacked but as soon as it was hacked i got it done.

The reason i pirate is because i can, its too easy not it. I cant afford £40 a game plus not alot of wii games are worth that money, if they made better titles then id probs invest a bit of money back into them.

But with the majority of games, why would i buy a game when i can get it for free?

I hardly doubt piracy will kill of nintendo, it only hurts them a small little bit

hmmm... quite a response to some meandering thoughts...

piracy does rob nintendo of $$$'s no matter how you look at it...
(how much noone actually knows..)

ps2 in the grand scheme of things has made sony very little actual profit..

nintendo makes a profit on their hardware
nintendo makes a lot of profit on their own games

microsoft famously makes little to no money in their gaming division
sony will take years to post an actual profit - considering their technical investments..

BUT
these companies have very deep pockets..

like any great conglomerate - these companies want industry domination
then- and only then does the money roll in...

nintendo did not expect industry domination
their market strategy revolves around a very conservative 'no loss' mentality
allowing them to trade through the bad and save during the good for their future

this is nintendo's glory years..
i for one would not begrudge them their current success because the future holds
uncertainty for nintendo still...

the next gen of hardware will cost even more to produce - sony and microsoft will both
wish that nintendo goes the way of the dodo - it may still be possible that competing
at the top level may still be too much of a financial risk

anyways...
just more meandering thoughts

Ever read this?

http://www.unc.edu/~cigar/papers/FileSharing_March2004.pdf

Pretty much disproves the effect that (music) filesharing has on actual CD sales.

Therefore, I'm going to download as much as I fucking want, because if I had to pay for it, I wouldn't buy it anyway.
