I was thinking the exact same thing.
I bought my Wii for 5 reasons:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Metroid Prime 3
Secret of Mana
Streets of Rage 2
Super Mario RPG

If Square doesn't release games soon, Im gonna go nuts.
Oh yeah, and Super Metroid rocks! I'll be getting that too

Super Mario RPG would be great! But Nintendo said that US-only games won't be coming to the European console, so that kinda sucks...
Where did you read that? Have you got a source by any chance? I've read various interviews from Nintendo and they've said that its possible that some none PAL titles would be released in PAL territories.

It would be a very stupid move in Nintendo's behalf to not release Mario RPG here and miss out on more points being spent.

As for Square Enix, though techinally a Enix game they have released Actraiser so it does kinda show that they are willing to put some titles out. I think they'll pull their fingers out next year. I don't think we'll see FF games for a while seeing as they're busy bleeding the series dry with ports spread across GBA/DS & PSP.

Well thats what I figured too...they (They being Square-Enix) are like OMG we can only sell FF 4 for 8 dollars? FF1 for 5??? We were hoping to charge $49.99.....forget the virtual console then...we'll wait a few years and just put the games out retail!

I never saw the interview... I'm a 100% sure that I read it somewhere though... I'll try and find a link.
Edit: I saw that that interview is quite recent, mine was old. From before the Wii was out.
Edit 2: I searched some more, and I see quite a lot of people saying that the VC-games are regionlocked, and just can't be released on another region.
But I guess I and all the other people are wrong

(sounds a bit sarcastic but I don't mean it that way

Right now, I'm waiting for Super Mario Bros 3 on VC. I hope they add a save support or something because I really don't have time to beat it in one sitting. But yeah, Super Mario RPG would be really awesome too. I would definitely buy the thing !!

@filozof:
You know you can "save" by pressing the home button, and press "return to main menu" or something
the next time you start the VC game... you'll start in that pause screen (home menu), exactly where you were
