i wander when i merge game + update > find the size of tottal game become very small > such as far cry 6 the game + update = 90 giga and after merge progress the game become 56 giga .is it logic ? and the game work successfully > or the game become uncompleted ? its very good to free large space to my hdd and install more games

Whenever I merge a Switch game with the update file, it just adds the two together.

But it's supposed to replace the old content within the ROM with the updated files/content from inside the update. This should only make the ROM grow marginally, instead of bloating it up with the entire update. So what's the app doing wrong?

this is for the ps4.

I'm not sure. I just know that they advise against it for that reason, possibly others. kinda curious if it would affect dlc at all if it were to scan app version. I don't know that though. a merged update just increases master version. some official games are that way, but it's almost never higher than 1.01 or 1.02. a much higher update might be a problem.
