Apple iRig Alternatives

I'm looking at getting the Amplitude app for iPhone that has the iRig.
Obviously the iRig itself is quite deer so I wan't to know if there are any cheaper or knockoff alternatives around that do the same thing.
Im talking about the CABLE itself. I'm sure there must be some cheap chinese knockoff stuff somewhere. I had no luck on eBay though.

Any help will be appreciated.

After a quick google I ended up here. I think you can use a camera cable or something for this to work, according the the post or you can buy a cheaper one (also in there)
