Apple Ipod transfer slow

I have been using the laptop and computer to transfer files to the ipod using ifunbox and itunes. The laptop (w7 x64) transfer files at constant 8-9 MBps but the computer has very slow transfer rate even through itunes and ifunbox whereby it sits there for a few seconds and then continues and the transfer rate goes from 8MB to 1.4MB and so forth
What could be the issue? Previously the drivers gave me a problem as it was detected as unknown driver but now it is correctly installed yet it has slow transfer rates?
I use the r4 usb MSD reader and it gives me 4.3 MB transfer rate and an external hard disk transfers at around 20MB/sec. The problem is specific to ipod transfers
I havent cleaned my motherboard in months actually...

It's most likely your USB ports. Try cleaning them.

there are a several factors
1.try closing all your closing all your open software
2.try also formatting the ipod this should give a +
3.try a different usb port this trick for me worked
4.try a 3-party software for sync ipod to pc
