ipod touch 3rd gen tethered jailbreak !!

If i were to jailbreak an ipod 3rd gen, i understand it will be tethered and if i switch it off the jailbreak would go away, but if i were to switch off the ipod and lose the jailbreak, when i put the jailbreak back on would all the apps etc still be on there or would they be erased when i switch it off e.g. i download a few homebrew apps blah blah if i switch it off then reinstall the jailbreak would the homebrew app still be there or would it be erased.

You won't lose a single bit of data, but everytime you turn it on it'll ask to be connected to iTunes which'll say you need to restore it.

Ignore that and just use blackra1n to jailbreak it again, everything will be fine.
