Homebrew I have been gone for a long time.

Soo yeah i was off for a while and decided to come back now that Monster hunter Generations is out and i saw that now there is luma and arm9loader.
I have an O3DS that has menuhax and rxtools. should i wipe everything and head on for arm9 and luma?
And if so would you mind informing me about anything i need to know and common mistakes to avoid?

You should go down the A9LH route, it's time consuming, but so much better than MenuHAX! As well RXTools is dead, I suggest looking into either Luma3DS or maybe trying another CFW since there is more than just Luma3DS.

Follow Plailects guide that Glaceon conveniently provided and you should be good. I do recommend making a backup of your nand and emunand before even starting just to be safe.
