Hacking Hyrule Warriors - System Update?

So, I went out the other day and bought myself a brand new copy of Hyrule Warriors. However, when I put it in my 5.5.1 Wii U and tried to open it an update started installing. For obvious reasons, I hit cancel as soon as I saw it and was notified that I won't be playing Hyrule Warriors until the update was installed.

Both my Wii U and the copy of Hyrule Warriors were Australian. I couldn't find a date of manufacture on the game, so I have no idea how new it really is. My console was NOT connected to the Internet.

Basically, my question is:
Is this a new system update (5.5.2 or 5.6 or whatever) or is it just a game update? Is it okay to let it install?

There is no update , it's a game update bro , update the game there isn't anything above 5.5.1

I just find it weird that it happened while the console was offline. Well, if this is all okay I'll just let it install.

Well, update installed and I'm still rockin' 5.5.1. Also, Hyrule Warriors is awesome.
