Hacking How to update? EZflash

I have an ezflash V with 1.63 firmware and i was wondering how do i get it to the latest firmware?

i tried downloading the latest one and just putting it on the root of the sd card but it doesnt seem to work. (GTA doesn't work) and the help stil displays as ez5 help 1.63

I suppose it's a ez5v1, right ?
So what you have to do is to update the bootloader (ez5upldr.bin) with the one that comes with k1.70.
Grab the kernel here.
Format your microSD in FAT (FAT16) and unzip all files to your microSD and flash the ez5upldr.bin like usual (R key).
Be sure to have your DS full of power because just after you have done the bootloader update, you will see the bootstrap update which is a critical update.
So don't turn off power during this process.

Once you are under k1.70, you can install last kernels.

EZ5 plus and EZ5i users don't do this update !!
