I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a tutorial to update A9LH?
I currently have a N3DS XL running Luma3ds and A9LH I didn't install these on my console I paid someone to do it but I don't want to pay to update A9LH if I can do it myself, I have searched for a guide to tell me how to update but most that I find look pretty technical so if anyone knows of a NOOB guide or could make one please let me know

    Thank You

do I really need to do the update or is it an optional thing?

Entirely optional, there isn't a solid reason to do so, as of now

I've heard, but not tested myself.. that the newest a9lh installs a micro cfw so you can boot without an SD.

As of now, on the release versions (public version)
https://github.com/AuroraWright/arm9loaderhax/releases it does not even has the micro cfw without SD arm9loaderhax, so until a new version with the said functionality comes out it's pretty much useless

I saw a post saying ''A9LH v2 (or updating) is risky, someone have hardbrick'' İs it true? Or Can we update/install A9LH V2 with safe? Thanks..

It literally sat in development hell for a month, then copied features from AW. It is almost exactly the same as AW's fork of a9lh, which I will continue to support in favor of shadownand as the dev has shown (very clearly) that she knows what she's doing.

I was simply suggesting it, as it is already compiled.

Is there a reason that those new commits as compiled in the 6_21_2016.zip you linked haven't been "officially" released yet?

And were I to use it, would it be possible to "downgrade" back to the current 6/19/2016 release?

    No idea, ask Aurora.

You can go back to those payloads the way you updated to the new ones. Just make sure to use the latest version of SafeA9LHinstaller.

No reason to update right now in my opinion
