Evening all , just in this ' ' magic ' ' night .. ( ? )
I would ask how to translate games .3ds , or, of course, open a backup , and how to extract the files and then translate them .. thank you infinitely !
HOPE IN GOD can do ..

You get good at deciphering code/creating table files and learn hex editing. Also, you need to be capable of obviously translating the language itself.

Its not just a matter of "lol heres some text, lets edit it in notepad". also, bear in mind different languages have different size letters and alphabets. you will have to code VWF's for most examples and use pointers to relocate information in the ROM. You will have to do a shitload of work for most games unless they are incredibly simple in nature.

best place to ask is http://www.romhacking.net - if you're new to romhacking and translations, you should be prepared to be learning for a good few months/years.

Someone should make a program to simplify this shit.

Wish it was easy, super robot wars UX is too much of a pain to play and pretty sure it will never be release outside JP.

The person that figures out how to do that and actually does it will retire about 3 days after they do, assuming they are not disappeared by various security services before then, and most likely will not be using it for ROM hacking.

Back on topic though http://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-rom-hacks-possible.373550/#post-5145011 was something I wrote a few weeks back, some things have changed since then (seems some people have worked up on system debugging to be marginally doable) but the same things still apply until gateway drop the new exploits. Can't say I would go in for 3ds hacking though if I was new to it all -- go with the DS, people know the system, there are tools, there are debuggers that work well, people know the formats and once you get a grounding there then the 3ds looks to be quite similar.
