Homebrew How they find vuln's?

By looking at each and every game that seems like it would have a buffer overflow or similar, and seeing if they can load unsigned code from it.

Then they lock it up from kernel - the only people capable of finding kernel decide to not share it.

It rules that people hold weird grudges to the people who actually get work done because they aren't releasing stuff they might not even have
