Hi all,

my kids have been playing on my switch a lot recently and I’ve just come across a few marks and scratches on the bezel around the screen. I’ve seen on a few sites you can buy the replacement part for cheap (£6) ish. This is the piece

https://www.replacebase.co.uk/for-nintendo-switch-replacement-front-touch-screen-chassis-oem

I can’t however find a decent guide to actually do the repair. From looking at it, it looks like it should just clip off. Can anyone confirm this or tell me the difficulty of doing this myself?

Can anyone see one where it shows it being replaced? I’m pretty handy myself but not a fan of removing the screen

It's a pain in the neck. Basically everything has to come apart.

Back covers, card readers, motherboard, joy con rails, digitizer, lcd (doesn't technically have to come off but I try to keep the lcd& digitizer together because lining them up is a pain), there are some screws under the digitizer holding it to the frame, etc

I avoid this job regularly

I thought someone would say that...

If it was just a case of unscrewing bits and taking them out then fair enough but I don’t want to remove the screen as that looks awkward and I’d probably cause more damage.

It's pretty tricky getting the lcd& digitizer lined up(at least it has been for me). And I always end up with 1 spec of dust in between them.
