How do I use arcade ROMs on the Genesis Mini?

I modded a Genesis Mini at the request of a friend's friend but he wants to put MAME ROMs on the thing and I'm confused on how to properly select the right .BIN file to actually load the ROM. I've never really worked with arcade ROMs before and I'm a little out of my depth.
