i want to gameshare xenoverse 2 with my friend but the game has a lock mark on the game why is that?
You need to tell your friend to deactivate his ps4 account then you need to activate it on your console.
can u explain it to me? i dont understand cuz i received my ps4 last week so idk much about it lol
Tell your friend to go to settings-account management,go to restore licenses then deactivate. After he deactivates his psn account from his ps4 you will be able to activate it on your ps4.Once this is done you won't have the lock on gameshared games from his account anymore.
game share, or share play?
Share play, isn't that when you watch someone play a game? Game share isn't that when you like 3ds games when you play with someone who dosen't have the game? I didn't notice a game share, but share play is just watching someone play a game not playing with them, that was back on psp/NDS
share play you can assign them a controller to play with you
the game share is kinda like letting the dude use your PSN to play the games you own (aka quickest way to get banned or hacked)
Well i guess, so is basically that he wants to let his friend play a game he downloaded from the one PSN account on his system... Yeah, not a good idea. But you would need to deactivate one system and activate another with the single account, and keep switching back and forth every time you want to change the active system, much better to buy and share a single disc.
but that's officially explained as "share your digital game with a friend" on Sony's website.
here is the differences with "main console" option you set on your PSN preferences:
You can put your own PSN account on someone else console, and play with your account at the games you own. (your account will get the trophies, you can use your own savegames stored on your PSN account, etc.)
This is used to play your own games on someone else console.
The other account on the same console can't play your games.
You can have your account on as many console as you want. there's no restriction, but only one account at a time can be logged to PSN.
Now, imagine you are at home, you are two brothers.
It would be bad to need to pay the same game twice if each or you want to play the same game on "each" account. (you probably don't want your brother to share your savegame progress, or unlock trophies)
This is where "main console" is used.
You can set only ONE console as your main console.
The main console will grant ALL other accounts on that console access to what you have : PS+, and all your game library !
The other accounts of that console will have their own savegame, unlock their own account, and can use advantage of your PS+ even if they didn't register for it.
this is for a "family" setup.
But Sony officially provide a guide to borrow/rent/share digital games with friend using this feature :
1. Disable your own console as being the "main" from your PSN settings.
on that console, only your account will have access to your games and your PS+ advantage. other users will not be able to use it with their user account.
2. on your friend console, set the console as your main console from your PSN settings.
Your friend will be able to play your games and get your PS+ advantage with his own user account.
This will allow:
- You play your own games on your console with your account
- You still have PS+ access with your console with your account
- friend get to play to your game library with his account
- friend get your PS+ access on his account, allowing both of you to play online together with a single PS+ subscription.
You can have up to 2 consoles using your account at the same time. (your console and his console having your own "user account" used). He shouldn't log to your account or you'll get disconnected from your console.
You can't "set a console as primary/main" without first disabling that option on the console which is currently set as main console.
You can FORCE a reset of all linked consoles on your PSN account on sony's website. (not on a console). This can be done ONCE every 6 month only.
I don't know why users would be banned if it's officially explained how to share digital games with friends on sony website.
Anyone got a report of a banned account for using this?
I never tried, but I plan to share a game with a friend of mine soon.
I guess if you put your account on more than 2 consoles and everyone use your account (instead of theirs because you can't have "main console" set on more than one, so they need to use your account to get your games) then you can get banned.
just know whom you share your account with. don't make it public or allow more than one user to have it.
He specifically sead gameshare.....So that's when you download a game off your friends psn account to your ps4.Think of it as legal piracy.
think of it like borrowing a game disc from your friend.
You remember the video Sony did to mock Xbox one "closed system" ?
they decided to make it simple to borrow a physical game, and thought about this system for digital games.
I'm still looking for the correct page I've read last week.
it wasn't sony, but this one:
it says "up to 2 console can be used at the same time". I don't know if sony really allowed that.
The TOS says :
You may not sell, buy, trade, or otherwise transfer your Online ID, Account or any personal access to PSN through any means or method, including by use of web sites.
I get by this that you are now allowed to "stop using it" (sell, trade, definitive transfer, etc.)
but there's nowhere mentioned you can't lend it while still keeping your access.
also, if you go to your friend's house, you don't "share" your info with him, you just enter your own information privately.
it's grey area I suppose...
again, anyone got banned for that?
lot of sites say "you'll get banned", so no one tried?
