PS1/2 Hex Editing A PS2 Game?

So basically, I hex edited a PS2 Game, and now it won't boot. It just says "Please insert a PS2/PS Format Disc.". I guess I shouldn't be too shocked, since a similar thing happens with Sega Genesis games...Is there a way to fix this? I can give more details if necessary.

Guessing you didn't keep a back up of the unedited file?

If you know what you edited: change it back?

If not: Re-obtain the ISO in question and start again, always keep an untouched copy to revert to if you mess up

I do still have the original, but I messed with the ISO directly. Was that incorrect?

What I'm trying to do is change the name of something.
