Hacking Help with changing Switch account name

I would like to add my own custom letters to my account name not normally accessible through the Switch, specifically this name here in this picture:

I was wondering what file this name gets saved to so I can edit it myself through that. Does anyone know? Or if there's some app that changes it that would be helpful too. Thanks.

Not saying it doesn’t exist, but Homebrew is typically built to do activities that a lot of people want to do and don‘t have a default way of doing them. This is a bit of a niche request as I would imagine most folks will be OK with being able to change their name via the built in tool.

Anyone else know of anything to directly edit the user name?

I heard microwaving your switch unlocks developer mode and you can edit your name that way

It is possible, I've seen people with custom symbols.

Answering your original question I’ve not seen a homebrew app that does this. Not sure where the file might be.

Thinking outside of that box perhaps you could try changing your switch default to another language. One of the languages happens to be “symbols”. Maybe that’s what you’re looking for?

you can connect a USB Keyboard and try different input setups. or you can use the special characters section of the virtual key of the Switch:

By now the only Homebrew I know for "modify" the profile are:

linkAlho, to link existing profiles to a "nintendo account" offline (https://github.com/rdmrocha/linkalho/releases)
Avatool, to change the avatar image, https://github.com/J-D-K/Avatool/releases

And some time ago I did use a Russian guide to alter my profiles: https://switch-customfw-xyz.transla...to&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=es-419&_x_tr_pto=wapp but needed outdated homebrew I don't know if works, it can be a reference for the files holding the profiles information (are encrypted system saves)

Seems some time ago was a Software called DevMenu which was able to edit switch accounts:

but unlucky seems doesn't work anymore on new firmwares/Atmosphére.
